What types of handicap accessibility will there be?

Our mission is "to unite and promote the emerging fashion industry, [as] we aim to present a fresh perspective on the talent that exists within our city” with that being said we cannot unite if we are not inclusive so please contact us at pghfw@downtowncdc.org or at (412) 235-7263 to request accommodations.

Is there an audience dress code for the event?

There is no specific dress code for PGHFW you may come straight from work or spend all day creating your most fabulous outfit. Anything from casual to semi-formal is appropriate however we encourage you to support the PGH fashion industry by wearing our local designers. This years designers and PGHFW alumni can be found here.

Will I be allowed to photograph and videotape the show?

In general you are permitted to shoot from your seat. However, please be conscious of those around you and be sure not to distract them or the models. If you are a professional photographer or videographer please complete the press application. Only those with press credentials will be permitted in the press area.

Will I be able to leave freely throughout the show?

To respect the designers and models who are participating in the show we ask that you remain seated until we are between runway segments as to not disrupt other guests or the models. Please also wait until between segments before returning to your seat.

Is this a child-friendly event?

Child will be permitted to attend PGHFW however appropriate behavior is expected as this is a professional fashion show the the designers and models deserve respect.

How old must you be to participate in PGHFW?

There is no age requirement to participate in PGHFW.

If I know someone participating in the show am I able to go backstage to see them?

Guests are NOT permitted backstage or at the Spark conference center on the 12th floor.

Where should I park and what is the parking fee?

There are several parking options in and around the PGHFW events including parking at PPG Place, valet parking in Market Square near our VIP party and walking distance from our runway show as well as a large variety of parking, biking and public transit options to get you to our show.

When is my last chance to purchase tickets?

We strongly encourage you to purchase tickets as soon as possible, many of our events will sell out before the date of the event. We do not currently anticipate selling tickets at the door, in the event that we do offer standing room only tickets that information will be posted on our social media pages.

What time do all the various events begin? How early should I arrive?

While all our events start at different times our VIP party at the Metropolitan Club will be from 6-7:30 pm. The doors for our Runway Show at the Wintergarden at PPG will open at 7 pm with the show starting promptly at 8 pm. All our events are expected to begin at the exact time listed and can be viewed here.

How do I get an invitation to the Kickoff Party?

The Kickoff Party is an invite only event, nobody will be permitted to enter unless they have been invited. To request and invite please contact us at pghfw@downtowncdc.org.

Are minors allowed to attend the Kickoff Party?

Minors are permitted to attend, however they must be accompanied by a parents or guardian as the event is being hosted in a bar setting.

Who are the featured designers this year?

What should I do if I want to sponsor PGHFW?

How do I get involved in PGHFW?

Our Pittsburgh Fashion Week team consists of all community volunteers and we are always looking to expands with work with designers, models, stylists, photographers and other volunteers. To participate in PGHFW and help make it all happen you can fill out an application here.

When is casting?

Generally, the Designer application is available in January with the selection taking place in March. The model application is available in April and the selection in June

Do I have to have professional experience?

No professional experience is required, but it is helpful. There are many opportunities to take classes and learn from seasoned professionals throughout the Pittsburgh region (sewing classes, model classes, entrepreneurship programs, cosmetology schools, etc.)

How do I find out about events?

You can find out everything through signing up for the Pittsburgh Fashion Alert Newsletter. This newsletter will target Pittsburgh fashionistas including boutiques, designers, models, makers, salons and anyone who is an influencer or just enjoys fashion. PGHFA will be a bi-weekly informative newsletter highlighting what's currently happening in the fashion industry.
