Fashionable Finds at 306 Forbes

By Olivia Miller

In a world ruled by Amazon and Walmart, it seems like the in-store, personal shopping experience is a lost art. Womens’ boutique 306 Forbes is fighting to bring it back.

Originally opened in October 2019 by Lisa Wolfson, the shop features pieces for women of all ages that are just as versatile and timeless as they are stylish. Wolfson boasts that her in-store Spanx fittings are one of the most unique and convenient aspects of the boutique.

Her favorite part about her location downtown is interacting with her clientele. Whether they are regular customers, college students and their parents, or men shopping for their significant others, Wolfson likes having conversations with her customers to get to know them.

When customers walk into 306 Forbes and behold its chandeliers and floral wallpaper, Wolfson wants them to feel “welcomed and inspired.” She wants the pieces on the colorfully curated racks to encourage women to show off their personalities and their own personal styles in their clothing.

Supporting small businesses is something Wolfson keeps very close to her heart. She carries candles made by local small businesses and would like to expand her line of local offerings in the future. She not only encourages supporting her small business, but also other downtown small businesses since the money “goes right into the local economy.”

Like many small businesses around the country, the pandemic proved to be challenging for 306 Forbes, especially with discontinued items and supply chain issues. However, 306 Forbes’ establishment of their website and online store in 2021 significantly helped to remedy the pandemic’s effects.
